The Bible in Recent News
  1. At the annual conference of the British New Testament Society, Dr John Lyons of the University of Bristol gave a plenary lecture on the Leverhulme Trust-funded project on Britain’s first purpose-built church for the deaf, St Saviour’s (pictured above). He focused on the reception of Jesus’ healing of the deaf-mute man in Mark’s Gospel.
  2. Recently in Israel: “…Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with 200 students, along with Education Minister Naftali Bennett, and urged them to be serious about Bible study – in the public schools.”
  3. A novel-like Bible has been released, aimed at teens. Piercedbook“The novel-style Bible will have all the traditional systems of classification such as chapter, verse and others removed. Instead, illustrations and easy to follow guides will be incorporated. The special feature of this novel is that actual notes of 10 teenagers from across the world have been incorporated into it.”
